Our one-day WASP course is an integral part of the 2nd-year subjects "Square-Rigged Sailing & Unconventional Rigs" and "Shipbuilding Sailing Vessels".
External students can join the course. Before the actual course starts, digital material is shared: - Theory of Wind Propulsion (Sail Theory) Study time circa 3 hours - Basic meteorology. Study time circa 3 hours - WASP systems and handling. Study time circa 4 hours The course will be held in our class rooms on February 20, 2026 at the schoolbuilding in Enkhuizen. Contents: - Economics: why WASP-technologies matter - WASP- ship building and refitting - WASP in practice; safe WASP- operations The course can also be followed online. The course will conclude with an online test which can be taken at a convenient moment. After completion a "Certificate of Completion in WASP Technologies" will be issued.
